Using Fundin with Claude and Google Tools

How to use Fundin, Google & Claude to increase efficiency

If you use Google Workspace, you can connect it to Claude alongside Fundin.

Once both are connected, Claude can move information between them automatically.

This means things like grant summaries, reporting deadlines and new matches can end up in your inbox, a shared spreadsheet, or a Google Doc without you having to copy and paste anything.

You do not need any technical knowledge. If you use Gmail, Google Sheets or Google Docs already, this will feel familiar.

You will need both Fundin and Google connected to Claude before this works.

See Connecting Fundin to Claude (MCP) to connect Fundin.

To connect Google, open Claude, go to Connectors, and add Google Workspace.

Get a weekly grant update by email

Ask Claude to check your Fundin account for new matched grants and send you a summary by email each week.

You could say:

"Every Monday morning, check my Fundin matched grants for anything added in the last seven days and email me a summary with the grant name, funder, amount and deadline."

Claude will pull the data from Fundin and send it to your Gmail. You get a clean weekly digest without logging in manually.

Log new grants to a Google Sheet

If you manage your funding pipeline in a spreadsheet, Claude can update it for you.

Try asking:

"Find all my matched grants in Fundin and add any that are not already in my funding tracker spreadsheet. Include the grant name, funder, amount, deadline and a link."

This keeps your spreadsheet up to date without duplicating work you have already done in Fundin.

Draft a funder update in Google Docs

When you need to send a progress update to a funder, Claude can pull your reporting data from Fundin and draft something in Google Docs.

Try asking:

"Using my reporting record for [grant name], write a draft funder update in Google Docs covering spend to date, outcomes achieved and any challenges. Keep it under 400 words."

You get a draft ready to review and edit, rather than starting from a blank page.

Send a reporting reminder to your team

If a reporting deadline is coming up, Claude can email the right people to prompt them to update the report.

Try asking:

"Check my Fundin reporting records and if any deadlines are within two weeks, send an email to [email address] asking them to update the relevant sections."

This is a simple way to make sure nothing slips without having to manually check dates.
