✅ Avoid wasted time by confirming you meet the funder’s criteria upfront.
One of the most important steps before applying is making sure your organisation is eligible. Fundin makes this easy by showing eligibility information directly on each grant page.
Where to find eligibility info
When you click a grant in the database, scroll to the section labelled “Eligibility.” This will outline:
Who the grant is open to (e.g. Charities, CICs, community groups)
Any geographic restrictions (e.g. specific regions or boroughs)
Additional requirements like income thresholds, sector focus, or service delivery conditions
You’ll also see quick indicators at the top of the page, including the “Open To” field and Location, to help you spot potential fit.

What Fundin checks automatically
We make the process easier by doing some of the filtering for you:
Location: We compare your project’s delivery area with funder restrictions
Organisation type: We filter grants based on whether you’re a charity, CIC, or community group
Project alignment: Our AI matches your goals with the funder's priorities and themes
This helps remove irrelevant options and gives you a tailored list of high-potential matches.
What still needs manual checking
Despite these filters, eligibility is not always clear-cut. Funders may include small-print restrictions or nuanced requirements that aren’t easily captured by automation
⚠️ We recommend always reading the full "Eligibility" section on the grant page before applying.
Whether it's a residency requirement, funder history, or income threshold - these are often manually listed and should be reviewed carefully
Coming soon: Full eligibility automation
We’re currently working on a feature that will automatically assess and flag eligibility risks based on your organisation’s profile and the funder's criteria. This will make it even faster to filter out unsuitable grants and act confidently on good fit
