Matched Grants

Understanding matched grants in projects

Updated over 3 months ago

✅ Save time searching for grants, our Ai will instantly match you.

Once you’ve created a project in Fundin, our platform automatically finds the best-fit grant opportunities for you. These are called Matched Grants, and they’re tailored specifically to your project’s content using our in-house algorithm.

How it works

When you complete your project, Fundin instantly scans our full grant database to identify grants that align. We analyse:

  • Location – where your project is based and delivers outcomes

  • Budget – how much you’re applying for and whether it fits within the funder's range

  • Thematic Alignment – whether your goals match the funder’s priorities

This saves you hours of manual searching and ensures you’re focusing on the most relevant and realistic funding options.

Viewing your matched grants

Head to 'Projects' then click on the Matched Grants tab. You’ll see a list of matched funders with the most relevant ones shown first

Each grant is ranked by how closely the project aligns with the funder

Click 'View Grant' to see the reasoning behind the grant match

When drafting an application, all of this information goes to our Ai so we can tailor responses to each funder.

Dismissing Grants

If you want to remove a grant from your matches you can click the button the right to remove it from any future matches.

You can also favourite grants by clicking the star and viewing these later.

Why this matters

Matched Grants take the guesswork out of finding funders. Instead of endlessly browsing and second-guessing funder fit, you get a data-driven shortlist tailored to your project. That means:

  • Higher chances of success

  • More efficient use of time

  • Stronger, more targeted bids

And because Fundin’s AI learns over time, the more you use it, the smarter it gets.
