Every organisation has its own way of communicating. Some are formal and professional, others are warm and conversational. We make sure your applications sound like you — not like a generic template.
How your applications are written
Our AI generates the first draft of every application. It has been trained on thousands of real grants and applications, so it understands structure, tone, and what funders are looking for.
Every AI draft is then reviewed and improved by your bid writer before it reaches you. They refine the language, strengthen the case for funding, and make sure the application reads naturally and professionally.
This means even without a custom tone of voice set up, your applications will be written to a high standard from day one.
Setting your tone of voice
If you want applications to reflect your organisation's specific voice and style, you can set this up in the Persona tab of your organisation profile, found under Library in the left-hand menu.
You have two options:
Upload examples of your writing — share documents that represent how your organisation communicates. Annual reports, previous applications, newsletters, or website copy all work well. The more examples you provide, the more accurately we can reflect your style.
Describe your style directly — if you do not have documents to share, you can write a description of your preferred tone. For example: formal but approachable, plain English, avoids jargon, uses person-first language.
💡: The best input is real examples of your own writing. A past application or your latest impact report gives us more to work with than a description alone.
What if something doesn't sound right?
If a bid does not reflect your voice, leave a comment on the specific question and let your bid writer know what needs adjusting. Over time, your saved responses build up a library of approved answers written in your style, which improves consistency across future applications.
