Not every application will be successful — rejection is a normal part of the funding process and does not necessarily reflect the quality of your application. Funders are often oversubscribed and make decisions based on their own priorities at the time.
How you will find out
Applications are submitted in your organisation's name, so any decision from the funder will come directly to you. When you hear back, log into your pipeline, open the bid, and click Mark as Lost to update the status.
Keeping your pipeline up to date helps us track your funding history and plan future applications more effectively
.
Share the feedback with us
Funders will sometimes provide feedback on why an application was unsuccessful. If you receive any feedback, please share it with your bid writer — by email or WhatsApp. We use this to improve future applications to the same funder and to build a better picture of what works.
💡 Tip: Even brief feedback from a funder is useful. Something as simple as "the project did not align with our current priorities" tells us something about when and whether to reapply.
Reapplying
If a funder allows reapplications, we can reapply without using additional credits. Speak to your bid writer about whether it is worth reapplying and when the right time would be.
What happens to your pipeline
A lost bid does not automatically trigger the next opportunity in your pipeline. Your bid writer will be in touch to discuss next steps and agree what to work on next.
