Reviewing and submitting bids

What to check before you submit your self-serve draft on Starter or Growth, and how to submit it.

This article covers self-serve review on Starter and Growth, where you review your own AI-drafted applications before submitting. On Managed, your bid writer drafts and reviews applications with you — see Getting your application reviewed instead.

Once your draft has been generated, the next step is to review it carefully before submitting to the funder. You submit it yourself.

What to check

Go through each question in your draft and check:

  • The answer is accurate — make sure figures, dates, and descriptions reflect your actual project

  • It meets the funder's criteria — re-read the grant's eligibility and funding priorities and check each answer is relevant

  • It sounds like your organisation — edit the tone where needed so it feels authentic

  • Nothing is missing — check for any questions where the AI did not have enough information to answer fully and fill these in yourself

🔴 Important: Do not submit a draft without reviewing it. The AI produces a strong starting point but it is still useful to have a human look it over.

Submitting

Once you are happy with the draft, submit it directly to the funder. You will need to follow the funder's own submission process. This may be via their website, an online portal, or by email - we have information about each process when you click 'Ready for Submission'

IMPORTANT: Fundin does not submit applications on your behalf.
