Once you have created a campaign, Fundin automatically scans the grant database to find the best-fit opportunities for you.
These are called matched grants and they are tailored specifically to your campaign using our matching algorithm.
How matching works
Fundin analyses three things when matching grants to your campaign:
Location — where your project is based and delivers outcomes
Budget — how much you are applying for and whether it fits within the funder's range
Thematic alignment — whether your goals match the funder's priorities
The most relevant grants are shown first, ranked by how closely your campaign aligns with each funder.
Viewing your matched grants
Go to Campaigns, open a campaign, and click the Matched Grants tab. You will see a ranked list of grant opportunities with the strongest matches at the top.
Click View Grant on any match to see the full grant details and the reasoning behind the match.
Dismiss a grant — if a grant is not relevant, click the dismiss button to remove it from your matches.
Favourite a grant — click the star to add it to your Opportunities list, ready for whenever you want to start drafting. See Building your Opportunities for how to manage this list.
You choose which matched grants to pursue and apply to, and you select the best one to focus on each month directly from this tab.
🔵 Your monthly strategy call is a good time to go through your matches together and agree what to prioritise with your bid writing expert — but you can select and start drafting a grant yourself at any time in between.
Checking eligibility
Before you start drafting an application, Fundin automatically checks your organisation against the funder's eligibility criteria using the information in your profile. This includes:
Location — whether your delivery area falls within the funder's geographic scope
Organisation structure — whether your legal status (e.g. charity, CIC, community group) is eligible
Income size — whether your organisation's turnover falls within the funder's accepted range
Staffing — where funders specify requirements around staff or volunteer numbers
Notes — any other specific information you have added to the notes section in the bid library
You can also check eligibility manually by clicking any grant and scrolling to the Eligibility section, which sets out the funder's full criteria in detail.

If you are unsure whether you qualify, click More Info on the grant page to visit the funder's website, or contact the funder directly. Many welcome short eligibility queries.
How up to date is the grant database?
Fundin monitors over 20,000 funders and updates automatically, so grant data is always current. New opportunities are picked up as soon as they're published, and existing grants are updated when deadlines, criteria, or funding amounts change. If a grant is a good fit for your work and it's open, Fundin will find it.
